Looking for a quick getaway? Why not take the kids to Take the Kids to Kalahari Resort Poconos, one of the most popular PA water parks.  Our kids have been begging us to take them to Kalahari Resorts, so we surprised them on a long weekend and headed there for the night taking advantage of the Family Safari Package.

Kalahari Resorts in the Poconos Mountains is America’s Largest Indoor Waterpark. BIG just got HUGE. Phase II is now open featuring a host of new rides and attractions, from the thrilling, near-vertical drop of the Screaming Hyena to the fun and excitement of the Dungeons of Hout Bay Wave Pool, along with fun activities for the little ones in Coral Cove and much, MUCH more!

Kalahari offers fun for kids of all ages. There is a really neat section for babies and toddlers and also water slides for pre-school aged kids. This was really important for us since we have three kids ranging from ages five to ten. We felt safe having the older kids go off on their own while Jaxon, our little guy, had some fun on the smaller slides. The older kids also enjoyed the play area with fountains and toys that they can all play together.

How to find Kalahari Waterpark Deals

First check on facebook during the week. Every Tuesday starting at noon, take advantage of incredible deals with our “Beat the Clock” offer. Once the clock starts ticking, you’ll only have until the following Friday at noon to reserve – unless the offer sells out before then!

Next, make sure to check the price of the  Family Safari Package that includes:  Overnight stay, waterpark admission, breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children (ages 4-12) at the Great Karoo, one 14″ single-topping Pizza and 4 fountain sodas, one $50 arcade card.

Those are two of the best deals for Kalahari, but you can also check Groupon but they haven’t really had any deals.

Some of my friends and I split a room, which was a great way to save money. Most rooms can accommodate up to six people and we all got to hang out at night with our friends. The kids had a blast and the moms did too.

Just a fair warning that the arcade is located right outside the water park area. Seriously, there is no avoiding it. We set a limit for each child before heading to Kalarahi with the understanding that they each received the same amount of credits and once it was gone, it was gone. The kids receive a debit type card that can be used in the arcade area, but it sure goes fast. Make sure the kids are aware of the different amounts needed to play each game. It’s actually a good lesson, if they look for smaller amount games then they can play more. We received arcade credit with the package we purchased, so it was like an added bonus.

Tips for Overnight Stays at Kalahari

I would highly suggest packing snacks and even breakfast items for the room. The buffet was included in our room package, but we still packed a ton of snacks. The rooms have microwaves, so we even packed the small mac and cheese cups to heat up for the kids. We also brought bottled water and juice boxes for the room. Try to save wherever you can 🙂
