Do your kids LOVE Legos? Why not plan to take the kids to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia at Plymouth Meeting Mall.

It’s really the Ultimate Indoor Lego Playground and ideal for families with children aged three to 10 years who enjoy the fun and creativity of LEGO. The 33,000-square-foot Discovery Center offers 2-3 hours of repeatable fun featuring an interactive LEGO-themed ride, a 4D Cinema, and thousands of LEGO bricks in themed building areas making it the ultimate indoor LEGO playground.

We had an opportunity to visit the press preview of Legoland Discovery and here are some of our favorite things:

Take the Kids to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia

Girls Can Play Too with Lego Friends

There was a section just for girls with Lego built characters that each had a different personality and they all promote self confidence. The section is a pretty good size and has small building tables along with the city view image above. Throughout the room there are Lego Friends built with Legos along with a description of each girl. My daughter would play there all day.

Creative Workshop

The Creative Workshop allows kids to build along with the instruction following step by step instructions and two tvs in the room with live footage from document camera above instructor. Kids will build Lego sets  and then they have to take them apart. The good thing is that they can purchase the kit in the gift shop and build it at home. I wish they had an opportunity to just purchase the finished product they made in the workshop, but my kids were ok with buying the set and building it at home.

 LEGO 4D cinema

The  LEGO® 4D cinema was awesome with snow falling and wind blowing as we watched NexoKnights. I would compare the experience to the Soarin ride in Disney. We really thought that the Lego pieces were coming at us. It was the ultimate way to experience the Lego movie.

NINJAGO Training Camp and NINJAGO Laser Maze

The NINJAGO Training Camp and NINJAGO Laser Maze was Lucas’ favorite because he is a huge Ninajago fan. One tip is to either bring your own Lego mini figures with you or buy one before heading into the discovery center. Lucas really wanted to play with the Ninjago set with some figures.

The Discovery Center’s “First to Play” Preview Weekend will be on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2. Annual passes will be on sale for $59 per person after March 31.

The ultimate indoor LEGO® playground will feature an exciting LEGO®-themed ride called the Imagination Express, a 4D Cinema where kids and their families can watch as their favorite LEGO® characters come to life, and 10 separately themed LEGO® build and play experiences allowing kids to get hands-on with thousands of LEGO® bricks. Imaginations can run wild with the endless possibilities that LEGO® offers!
